He came to the conclusion that the first tower clocks in Flanders were almost all on civil buildings, in contrast to the neighboring countries. Together we follow the first tower clockmakers who did their work in primitive towers, the blacksmiths who made improvements and the clockmakers who had to adjust or lubricate the clock every day. This book is extensively documented and includes numerous unpublished photos.
