English anguage edition of an extremly detailed "catalog" (i.e.inventory and description) of an Augsburg made masterpiece clock movement made in 1712 according to the 16th century rules of the local guild, plus a "fake" case by an unknown maker added between 1987 and 2004, plus some thoughts and musings on "fakeness", authenticity, and the "restoration" of timepieces. 147 illustrations, many in color, complete schematic and teeth count for all trains and indications. Each of the 51 wheels is described and illustrated separately as are all 215 other moving or load bearing pieces of the movement. The clock is now exhibited at the Musee International d'Horlogerie in La Chaux-de-Fonds
