<br/><br/> In the most important period of English watchmaking, namely the 17th to 19th centuries, it only happened once that Switzerland was directly involved in shaping the tradition through one of its citizens. That exception was Justin Vulliamy, his son Benjamin and his grandson Benjamin Lewis. Their history will be briefly described in this paper.
