Scholarly catalog (in English) of Sundials and related instruments in the Museum of the history of Science in Florence. 124 instruments are described with the majority of them also illustrated in color, often multiple views per object. The collection is particularly rich with instruments from the former holdings of the Medici family and the dials made by Vincenzo Viviani between 1283 and 1313, as well as by the Volpaia dynasty in the 16th century. Includes concordance tables and bibliography.
