A comprehensive history of timekeeping and timekeepers through the ages (in French, published in 1924) illustrated with 163 in text black and white illustrations. Somewhat francocentric. Starts with 75 pages on elemental clocks, followed by a similar length treatment of tower and public clocks, followed by about 120 pages on 'chamber clocks'. The chapter on watches is relatively short (14 pages), as are the two concluding chapters on electric clocks (10 pages) and pneumatique clocks. Annex of 16 pages of the inventory of 1781 of the timekeepers owned by the King of Belgium. Corrections, Keyword index, List of illustrations, Table of contents.
